Theodoros Livanios

He was born in 1977 and is a graduate of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holds a master’s degree in Quality Management and Technology.

Until August 2021, he served as Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister. From July 2019 to January 2021 he was Deputy Minister of Interior, responsible for Local Government and Elections.

From the election of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the Presidency of New Democracy, in 2016, Director of Informatics of the party and head of the digital campaign of the European elections of May 2019 and the national elections of July 2019.

In 2014, he was appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of Administrative Reform and e-Government. From 2011 to 2014 he was General Secretary of the Municipality of Athens. Since 2010 special advisor to the Ministry of Interior, Decentralization and e-Government, where he worked on the drafting and preparation of the implementation of the new institutional framework for Local Government (“Kallikratis” program), as well as the new law on electoral expenses in Municipal and Regional elections.

For over a decade he worked in IT and market research companies in the private sector, as a computer programmer, database administrator and research data analyst.

Angelos Michalas

Angelos Michalas is a Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia. He is a founding member of the “Mixed Reality and Network-centric Systems” laboratory of the department. He is the director of the postgraduate study program “Advanced Information Technologies and Services” organized by the University of Western Macedonia in collaboration with the University of Piraeus and Academic Advisor of the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center (D.O.A.T.A.P.).

He also teaches in the postgraduate study programs “Advanced Information Systems”, “Digital Culture, Smart Cities, IoT and Advanced Digital Technologies” and “Organization and Management of Health Services – Health Informatics” organized by the Department of Informatics of the University of Piraeus. Mr. Michalas’s research interests focus on the areas of design and performance evaluation of wired and wireless communications networks, network management and the provision of quality service-quality of experience, advanced distributed network services, and cloud computing technologies.

He has participated in a significant number of European research programs as well as national programs for the development and provision of IT services and network support. He has published more than 80 articles in international scientific journals and conferences. He is a member of technical committees and reviewer in international scientific journals and conferences. Mr. Michalas is a member of scientific associations including the Technical Chamber of Greece, the IEEE and the ACM.

Constantinos Patsakis

Constantinos Patsakis holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Athens, Greece and an M.Sc. in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London. He obtained his PhD in Cryptography and Malware at the University of Piraeus. His main research areas include cryptography, malware, security, privacy, and cybercrime. He has participated in several national and European R&D projects, mainly serving as a coordinator and principal investigator.

Additionally, he has worked as a researcher at the UNESCO Chair in Data Privacy, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the University of Piraeus and an adjunct researcher at the Athena Research Center.

Head of Cabinet for European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas

Despina Spanou

Despina Spanou is the Head of the Cabinet of the Vice-President of the European Commission, overseeing the European Union’s policies on security, migration and asylum, health, skills, education, culture and sports.

Her work on security consists in coordinating all areas under the heading of the EU Security Union, ranging from counter-terrorism, cybercrime, cybersecurity to hybrid threats. In this capacity, Ms Spanou coordinates the implementation of the EU Security Union Strategy 2020-2025, the first ever EU Strategy encompassing the whole spectrum of security work in the EU.

Previously, she was Director for Digital Society, Trust and Cybersecurity at the Directorate-General for Communications Network, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT). In this capacity, Ms Spanou was responsible for the European Union’s cybersecurity policy and law. She was responsible for the implementation of the EU legislation on security of network and information systems (NIS Directive) and for the negotiations of the EU Cybersecurity Act as well as cyber dialogues with the EU’s international partners. Ms Spanou has served as a member of the management board of ENISA, the EU agency for cybersecurity, and on the Steering Board of the Computer Emergency Response Team for the EU Institutions, bodies and agencies (CERT-EU).

She is a founding member of the Women4Cyber initiative and advocate for the need for addressing the cyberskills gap in Europe.

Despina Spanou started her career at the European Commission at the Directorate General for Competition in 2003. Previously, she practiced European law with the Brussels branch of a US law firm. Despina Spanou is a member of the Athens Bar Association and holds a Ph.D. in European law from the University of Cambridge.

Athanasios Staveris

Athanasios Staveris is a graduate of the Department of Physics of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a postgraduate degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the National Technical University of Athens, a PhD in High Energy Physics from the National Kapodistrian University and MBA for Executives from the University of Plymouth.

He has academic experience in the field of High Energy Physics working as a researcher in the CDF International Experiment in Fermilab, USA, having won a European Scholarship (RTN scholarship) and in collaboration with the Pione Institute of Nuclear Physics of Pisa (INFN Sez). In addition, he has more than ten years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale ICT projects in the private sector, working internationally.

He specializes in data analysis, the use of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AI / ML) algorithms and text analysis using NLP (Natural Language Processing) methodologies. From July 2019 until today he was an advisor to the Minister of State and Digital Government, where he had a special contribution to the management of cybersecurity issues and the completion of service 112 in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Civil Protection.

Thomas Dobridis

Thomas Dobridis is head of the General Directorate of Cyber ​​Security of the Ministry of Digital Governance (National Cyber ​​Security Authority). From 2009 to 2020 he was the head of the National Authority against Electronic Attacks – National CERT. From 2002-2008, he worked as a cyber security specialist for the Greek National INFOSEC Authority.

In the period 2000-2001 he worked in the private sector in Internet technology matters. Dimitris Gritzalis

Dr. Gritzalis is a Professor of Cybersecurity with the Dept. of Informa­tics of the At­hens University of Economics & Bu­­siness (AUEB), Greece. He also serves as Director of the Postgraduate Programme on Information Systems Security and Development, as well as Di­rec­tor of the Infor­ma­ti­on Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection (INFOSEC) Lab. Prof. Gritzalis holds academic degrees in Mathematics (BSc, Univ. of Patras, GR), Computer Science (MSc, City University of New York, USA) and Information Systems Security (PhD, Univ. of the Aegean, GR).

He has ser­ved as Associate Rector for Research, Associate Rector for Financial Affairs and President of the Life-Long Learning Center of AUEB. Also, he has served as Asso­ciate Commis­sio­ner of the Gre­­ek Data Pro­­­tection Com­mis­sion and as the President of the Greek Computer So­cie­ty. He is the Academic Editor of the Computers & Security journal (Elsevier), and the Scientific Editor of the In­ter­na­tio­nal Journal of Critical Infrastructure Protection (Elsevier).

In his academic career, spanning over 35 years, his research and consulting services have been exten­si­ve­ly funded by more than 100 public and private organizations, including the European Commission, EU Joint Research Center, ENISA, Europol, European Standardization Committee (CEN), Hellenic Mi­ni­stries, Gas & Oil industries (BP, EKO, DEPA), Hospitals, Athens Stock Exchange, Banks (Central Bank, National Bank of Greece, Piraeus Bank), Vodafone, OTE, as well as several consultancy and ICT firms.

Prof. Gritzalis has published more than 250 research papers in international academic journals and scien­ti­fic con­ferences. His current research in­te­­rests focus mainly on Cybersecurity, Critical Infra­stru­c­tu­re Protection, IT Audit, Risk Assessment, and Advanced Persistent Threats.

Ioannis Solomakos

Ioannis has more than 20 years of professional experience in the area of Corporate Security in multinational corporations where he has served in positions of increasing responsibility.

Currently Ioannis serves as the Chief Security Officer for Huawei in the South Balkans region responsible for the cyber security and privacy aspects for 5 countries (Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Albania, and North Macedonia).

Previously, Ioannis have served as the Chief Security Officer for the OTE Group, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (leading among others all security aspects of the SNF Cultural Center landmark project) and PRAXIA Bank.

ENISA Awareness and Education Team Leader

Dimitra Liveri

Dimitra Liveri is head of the Cybersecurity Awareness and Education team at ENISA, the European Cybersecurity Agency. Some of the actions included in the group’s portfolio are the European campaign to raise citizens’ awareness of cyber security issues, the European Cybersecurity Month, as well as actions related to the Training of professionals in cyber security issues such as the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework.

At ENISA she started her career in 2010 as a specialist cybersecurity expert, supporting the implementation of EU legislation on the security of network and information systems (NIS Directive) by Member States with specialization in the Health and Transport sectors.

Gilad Zahavi

Gilad Zahavi is a Senior Director of Cyber Threat Intelligence Analytics at Cognyte, a global leader in security analytics software that empowers governments and enterprises with actionable Intelligence. Gilad has over 20 years of security experience and is a leading expert in the cyber threat intelligence domain.

Adonis Georgiadis

Adonis-Spyridon Georgiadis was born on November 6, 1972, in Athens. He is married to Eugenia Manolidou, and they have two children, Athanasios-Perseas and Anastasios-Alkaios.

He is a graduate of the Department of History and Archeology of the Philosophical School of Athens.

In 1993, he took over the management of “GEORGIADIS-LIBRARY OF THE GREEKS” publications. In 1994 he founded the Center for Liberal Studies “HELLINIKI AGOGI”.

He was elected Member of Parliament in Athens B in the 2007 and 2009 elections with the LAOS political party.

In February 2012, he joined the New Democracy political party, surrendering his parliamentary seat. He was elected with New Democracy in Athens B in the national elections of 2012 and 2015.

In 2011 he served as Deputy Minister of Shipping in the Government of Mr. Loukas Papadimos and in 2013 as Minister of Health in the Government of Mr. Antonis Samaras.

On January 18, 2016, by decision of the President of New Democracy Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, one of the two Vice-Presidents of New Democracy was appointed, with the purpose of controlling the parliamentary work.

On July 9, 2019, Adonis Georgiadis was sworn in as Minister of Development and Investments in the Government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Konstantinos Masselos

Professor Konstantinos Masselos is Chairman of the National Telecommunications & Post Committee, since February 2018.

He is Professor of Computer Systems Design at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Peloponnese, where he has been working since 2006. He is also the Ηead of the relevant research team. He served as Dean of the above university, in the period 2012-2017. In addition, he was Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Technology (2009-2011), Vice Rector for Academic Affairs (2010-2012) and Chairman of the Research Committee (2010-2013).

From 2010-2016 he was an Honorary Lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Imperial College. Also, from 2005 to 2008 he was a Lecturer in this Department. In the period 2001-2004 he worked in the company INTRACOM, in projects of research and development of wireless communication systems.

He has participated in a significant number of research and development projects and has experience as a consultant in industry, start-up companies and public organizations. Since 2005 he has been continuously involved as an expert in evaluations of funding proposals and research projects of the European Commission. From 2015-2017 he was a Member of the Scientific Committee of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST).

His research interests focus on the areas of compilers, High Level Synthesis (HLS), Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), high-performance computing systems, and space computing systems. He has published more than 120 articles in international journals, conferences and collective volumes.

Professor Konstantinos Masselos is an Electrical Engineer at the University of Patras (1994). He holds an MSc in VLSI Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (1996) and a PhD from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology of the University of Patras (2000). He completed his doctoral dissertation in collaboration with the Inter-university Micro Electronics Center (IMEC) in Belgium, where he was a researcher from 1997-1999.

Vassilios Argyriadis

Mr. Argyriadis holds the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Network Solution Sales & Marketing Director of Huawei Technologies South Balkan Region with responsibilities covering Greece, Cyprus, Albania, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia. George Stefanopoulos is the General Manager of the Greek Mobiles Operators Association (EEKT), founded by Cosmote, Vodafone and WIND in order to (a) represent the Industry in Greece and abroad, (b) promote the contribution and prospects of mobile communications nationally, (c) promote licensing solutions to mobile providers regarding infrastructure and (d) enhance the digital future of the country.

He has long experience in the telecoms industry. Leo Drakopoulos is the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Technology Leader for the countries of Greece, Cyprus and Malta. Christos Dimas

Christos Dimas is a lawyer and member of parliament for Corinth with New Democracy. He was born on May 29, 1980. He graduated from the Law School of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and from Queen Mary University in London.

He received his Master’s Degree in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
He then completed his PhD in European Politics from the LSE, with a scholarship from the Alexandros Onassis Foundation. The title of his doctoral dissertation is: “The importance of the national institutional framework and domestic consultation during proposed reforms. The case of the privatization of national telecommunications in Greece and Ireland.”

Prior to his candidacy, he worked in the private sector as a business consultant for The Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
He was elected MP of Corinth with New Democracy in the elections of May and June 2012 and since then he is continuously elected as the first MP of the prefecture.

He participates in the Production-Trade Committees and the Protection of the Environment of the Parliament and is the Deputy Head of Economy and Development of the New Democracy.
In his free time he enjoys playing football and basketball and reading history books. He is married to lawyer Nikoleta Syregela and they have a daughter and a son.

Leonidas Christopoulos

Leonidas Christopoulos took over as Secretary General of Digital Governance and Process Simplification in August 2019.

He has many years of experience in administrative and fiscal reform, simplification of procedures and good legislation.

He worked as a special advisor to Ministers in the Ministries of Education, Development, Finance and Administrative Reform. From 2016 to 2019, he was an advisor to the Leader of the Official Opposition, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on State and Public Administration issues.

He is a graduate of the Department of International and European Studies of Panteion University with postgraduate studies at the University of Warwick. He is an honors graduate of the National School of Public Administration and a permanent employee of the Ministry of Finance.

In September 2007 he founded along with Andreas Kouris the «Real Group», which owns the radio station “Real Fm 97.8” in Athens, “Real Fm 107.1” in Salonica, “Ellinikos 93,2” in Athens, the weekly (every Sunday) newspaper “Real News” and the news portal “Real.gr”.

In 2012 Nikos Chatzinikolaou created his own personal site-blog “Enikos.gr” and the financial news blog “Enikonomia.gr”.

From September 2013 until June 2016, he collaborates with STAR Channel TV Station.

Since January 2017, he is the anchorman of the main news edition of ANT1 TV Station.

Nikos Chatzinikolaou is board member of European Newspaper Publishers Association (ENPA).

Elli Triantafyllou is a journalist, specialising in political reporting for the last two decades and more.She speaks English and French. She has a daughter.

Today, she works at the radio station RealFm and the news website ” Ieidiseis.gr”.

She has worked for many years at the newspapers “Ependitis” and “Kathimerini”, at the radio stations ERA1, PlanetFm, News247 Fm and Skai 1003 and the television stations Skai-tv and ERT.

She has directed a number of television and radio programmes and has carried out dozens of journalistic assignments in Greece and abroad.

Katia Makri is a journalist at Antenna Channel, one of the leading television networks in Greece. She has more than 20 years of experience as a political editor, and worked during that time for Ethnos, Eleftherotypia and Real newspapers, Star Channel, Alter Channel, Real, Alpha, and Flash Radio.

She was born in Athens, she has a master in European Studies and speaks fluently English and Italian.
